Palmyrene was under the Roman Empire's control, but it expanded its territory by invading countries like Egypt. Zenobia, who actually held power, bestowed the title of emperor upon her son and began their rebellion against the Roman Empire.
However, when the militant emperor Aurelian ascended the Roman throne and began a series of conquests to restore Rome's glory, the Palmyrene Empire collapsed, and Zenobia was captured. During Aurelian's triumph, Zenobia was humiliated by being forced to parade through the city of Rome wearing dazzling golden shackles, chains, and jewels. Following this, Zenobia's fate is uncertain. Some say she died, while some say she lived happily as an ordinary Roman citizen...
Fan Translation:
In the Third Century, in the area now known as Syria, she ruled as the Queen of the Palmyrene Empire.
Palmyra was within the sphere of influence of the Roman Empire, but eventually, a vast region including Egypt was conquered, and the real ruler became Zenobia who, with her son, assumed the title of "Emperor", intensifying their conflict with the Roman Empire.
However, when the military emperor Aurelian ascended to the throne, he restored the Roman Empire, and his first military expedition as Emperor was to retake the Palmyrene Empire, and he took Zenobia captive.
She made a humiliating spectacle at Aurelian's triumphant return, fettered in dazzling golden chains, her body adorned in a multitude of gems, while she was dragged around Rome.
After that, it is said she either died, or was made a Roman citizen and lived happily til the end of her days, but…?

3世紀のローマ軍人皇帝時代、シリア付近に存在したパルミラ帝国の女王。

NA Localization:
The queen of the Palmyrene Empire, which was a third century kingdom located near Syria during the reign of Rome's militaristic emperor, Aurelian. She was known as both the bravest woman warrior in the Eastern world, and one of its greatest beauties. She also spoke several languages, was well-versed in academics, trained her body to physical perfection, and enjoyed horseback riding and hunting. It was for these qualities that she came to be known as the wise and powerful queen who stood behind her husband, Palmyra's ruler. However, following her husband's death at the hands of relatives, she assumed the throne in his place.
Palmyra was once part of the Roman empire, but it built up its army and declared independence while Rome was preoccupied with a number of difficulties across the entirety of the empire. At one point, Palmyra managed to claim control of Syria, Arabia, Egypt, and more, greatly expanding her domain. However, she and her army eventually fell in a campaign personally led by Emperor Aurelian, which put an end to Palmyra's resistance. Zenobia was then forced to wear golden chains and jewels, only to be paraded around Rome in a public spectacle of humiliation during which she was forced to walk ahead of Aurelian's carriage as part of his victory procession.
Fan Translation:
During the reign of the military emperors in Rome, she was the queen of the Palmyrene Empire in the region of Syria.
She was called the largest woman in the east, and the most beautiful in the world.
She was a gifted scholar, speaking many languages, her physique was finely tempered, and she preferred hunting and horse riding.
Her ingenuity and power supported her husband, the ruler of Palmyra, and made a name for herself, but when her husband was killed by his own relatives, she replaced him and became the queen who ruled over Palmyra.
Palmyra was originally a region of the Roman Empire, but when the various regions of the Roman Empire fell into disarray, they solidified their power and claimed their own independence as a nation.
It became a great nation that expanded over and controlled Syria, Arabia, and Egypt, but the Roman Emperor of the time, Aurelian, led a punitive force to suppress and destroy the disorder incited by the Palmyrene army.
Zenobia was captured, and when Emperor Aurelian made his triumphant return to Rome, she was adorned in gold chains and jewels, and forced to walk before the Emperor's carriage.

NA Localization:
She will never forget her defeat at Aurelian's hands, nor the humiliation she suffered when he paraded her around Rome like some kind of living trophy. Neither will she forget the weight of the gold chains, the pain of the golden shackles, or the shameful glittering of the jewels she was forced to wear. Some claim that, terrified, she begged for her life at her trial, though none can confirm this.
As a Servant, she exists to redress the matter of the humiliation she suffered in life. No matter how unreliable the reports, or how unclear her own memories may be, she cannot countenance the notion of anyone believing that the Queen of the East begged for her life.
Rather than pretending her humiliating defeat never happened, she has materialized in the very attire fashioned for her humiliation, that she might overcome all it represents. Now that she is a Servant, the time considered her prime is the moment she cast her humiliation aside and died as a truly valiant warrior. She understands that if she had materialized as her pre-defeat warrior queen self, she would constantly be subjected to looks of disdain from those who knew what fate awaited her.
"She might look proud now, but she's just going to end up broken and humiliated, right?"
Any Zenobia forced to hear such things said about her could never be her true self. And so, her degrading attire serves to proclaim to all around her that it will take more than that to break her spirit, that even clad in golden chains and shackles, she will never submit. To anyone. Ever. And so, while her garments may be humiliating, her eyes—the eyes of a true queen—remain proud and resolute.
Fan Translation:
She will never forget her defeat by Emperor Aurelian, or the humiliation inflicted on her during his triumphant return.
The weight of those gold chains, the pain of her golden handcuffs, the shame of those gleaming gems she was adorned with.
Afterwards, when she was brought forth to be judged, it is said that she was so terrified that she begged for her life―――
As a Servant, she exists to clear away that humiliation.
Even if it's an unreliable folklore, or a memory lost from the end of her life, the Queen of the East must never beg for her life.
She must never be forgiven and allowed to live as a citizen of the Rome that later destroyed Palmyra.
It is necessary for her to surpass that humiliation, rather than to eliminate it.
Therefore, she appears in her most humiliating form.
That is because her true golden era as a Servant is "The moment she overcomes her humiliation and dies as a true heroine".
If she manifested as a warrior-queen, in the time when she was truly prosperous, "Will I not be a queen whose heart is broken and whose humiliation is smeared across her life?". Thus, she must escape that disdain.
When people say things like that, she truly cannot be her real self.
This is why she continues to insist on her present appearance.
She says she will never let her heart be broken like this.
Even if she is bound in the golden shackles, she will yield to no one.
Deliberately keeping this humiliating form――― but, she has the self-respect of a queen, and a firm eye that never forgets, always looking ahead.

NA Localization:
Augusta Assumption: B
A skill that demonstrates why Zenobia and her son proclaimed themselves co-emperors. She bestowed the title "Augustus"—the highest honor in the Roman empire, typically afforded only to the emperor himself—upon her son, while also taking the title "Augusta," the feminine form of "Augustus" typically used for the emperor's mother ow wife, for herself. This was not done out of a secret desire to assume rulership of Rome for herself. Instead, it is believed she did this as a show of strength and as a way to mock the Romans by proclaiming herself and her son more fit to rule their empire (and by extension, the world) than they were.
Consequently, using this skill will never imbue her with Roman attributes.
Fan Translation:
○Assumption of Augusta: B
A skill that demonstrates that Zenobia, along with her co-ruling son, was a self-proclaimed emperor.
She gave her son the highest title of the Roman Emperors, Augustus, while she herself took the female form of that, a female empress, and the mother of the emperor, entitling herself Augusta.
That's not to say they desired the throne of the Roman Empire, but their ironic pride to dare say "It is not you, but us who deserve to rule the Roman Empire (the world)".
Therefore, using this skill will not grant her the qualities of a Roman.

Aurelian's Siege (Resist): A
It was Aurelian personally leading the siege against Palmyra that resulted in Zenobia being taken prisoner. Thus, this skill indicates Zenobia and her army's fierce defiance of the Romans, even up to the moment of their capture.
Glory to Palmyra: A
A skill that demonstrates Zenobia's expertise in running a nation, thanks to both her excellent mind and superior strength. Indeed, it was these very qualities that enabled Palmyra to flourish under her rule. As an oasis city located in the desert of Syria, Palmyra was a key point for caravans coming and going. It is said that at its peak, Palmyra ruled over all of Syria, Arabia, and Egypt alike.
Fan Translation:
○Siege of Aurelian (Counter): A
When the Roman Emperor Aurelian personally led a punitive force to subjugate Palmyra, he captured Zenobia at the end of the battle.
This skill demonstrates the fierce resistance that the Palmyrene armies put up against the Roman forces, the rebellious spirit that dared to war against the Roman Empire, headed by Zenobia.
○Prosperous Palmyra: A
A skill that shows Zenobia's ability to lead a balanced nation, with both military might and keen intellect.
She governed the Palmyrene Empire well with her power.
Palmyra was an oasis city in the Syrian deserts, and prospered as a vital point for caravans.
In its golden age, Palmyra controlled a wide area, including Syria, Arabia and Egypt.

Shatter, Golden Chains and Humiliation.
This Noble Phantasm's True Name can only be released when Zenobia truly feels that she has proven herself to be the ideal queen, or when she feels she can prove as much in battle. If she doubts herself, even the slightest bit, it will fail. By channeling every bit of her magical energy, mental energy, willpower, determination, anger, and pride, Zenobia shatters the golden shackles and chains that are deeply tied to her Servant Spirit Origin and transforms into the hypothetical version of herself she always wished to be: a Queen of the East who shook off the defeat and humiliation she suffered at Aurelian's hands and achieved victory over the Roman empire.
Rather than physically releasing her body, it enables Zenobia's mind to escape her tainted past, not unlike a conceptual substitution which overwrites the possibility of the flawed, imperfect Zenobia who may have begged for her life in terror from her Servant self, temporarily replacing her very existence with her ideal, perfect self.
When this Noble Phantasm's True Name is released, it boosts all of Zenobia's stats to an astonishing degree.

•Authentic Triumph
A Noble Phantasm whose True Name can only be released when she is truly convinced in her heart that she "has proven that she is an ideal queen", or that she "can prove it in this coming battle". It cannot be invoked if there is even the slightest doubt.
By devoting all of her Magical Energy, her force of will, her willpower, her determination, her fury, and her pride, the golden chains that are so deeply ingrained to her Spirit Origin as a Servant can be disintegrated, a form saying "IF I desire it――― I can dispel the defeat and disgrace that the Roman Emperor Aurelian forced on me, and the Queen of the East will attain her victory!". That is the form that she attains.
It is not only a physical liberation of her body, but a spiritual cleansing of the imperfect past of Zenobia.
In other words, the Servant who is now a Shadow Servant has denied the possibility of "the imperfect Zenobia, whose cowardice covered her, and who begged for her life", the equivalent of a conceptual substitution that repaints her own existence temporarily.
When this Noble Phantasm's True Name is released, Zenobia's overall status will achieve a most marvelous improvement.
