Biography[]

Unlock Description Translation🛈🛈
Default "You summoned me? Marcus Junius Brutus, assassin-class servant. You really are an interesting master for summoning a useless servant like me."

Fan Translation: A politician from the classical rome and a close friend to Gaius Julius Caesar.
While has a few accomplishment worthy to his name, his most famous feat was his leading role in the assassination of Gaius Julius Caesar.

Bond 1 Gaius Julius Caesar: "Is that Brutus? Don't get me wrong, i hold no grudge over what he did to me. I understood perfectly why he did it all those years ago. However, i do want to be friends with him again."
Marcus Junius Brutus: "That fatso is Caesar, right? I know it. Even if he looked different, i can't mistake him for another man. Get that man away from me right now."

Fan Translation: Height/Weight: 172・78
Source: Historical Facts
Area: Rome
Alignment: Lawful・Evil
Gender: Male
One of the few words that can easily describe him is regret. It’s all over his eyes

Bond 2 "He's been underperforming in all areas. He's weak and he can't even use his noble phantasm. Why you ask? It's because of one of his skills, Eternal Condemnation. I learned once that possession of that skill makes Brutus unable to use his Noble Phantasm as he pleases, and not even command spell will help you in that matter. If you want him to be useful, then help him overcome that skill.
Of course i can also copy that Noble Phantasm if you think bonding with him is too painful. It might not be as powerful, but still have the same capabilities. You're the master, after all."

EMIYA

Fan Translation: Eternal Condemnation: EX
Brutus always regretted killing his closest friend, Gaius Julius Caesar, and the guilt from such travesty gave birth to this skill.
A skill that is always assigned to Brutus everytime he is summoned, which allows him to be summoned as an Assassin Class servant, it also seals most of his combat capability and even his Noble Phantasm.
A capable master is required for Brutus to accept his guilt and regret, turning this skill from limitation into strength. Should Brutus able to do so, his combat parameter rose dramatically and the use of his Noble Phantasm is unlocked.
Political Charisma: A
The capability of one to lead other people.
Brutus, in life, was a good military commander, but an even better politician. As such, while he is incapable of leading a nation, he is capable of leading a political party or even an army for his own gain. Those under the effect of this charisma will have their morale boosted and will follow Brutus’ command unwittingly.

Bond 3 Marcus Junius Brutus: "That guy had the same noble phantasm as me? That's fine to be honest. For all i care, he can have that noble phantasm."

"A king-killing Noble Phantasm, it was truly scary noble phantasm to be had when each and every one of us during that particular grail war was a king in our previous life. Sure, that was sealed, but once it's true name is released, sometimes it means game over for us. He even got the supposedly unkillable caster like taking a candy from a little kid. I guess i was kinda lucky not having to battle him at his full potential." Odysseus

Fan Translation: De Brutus Pugionem
Rank: B
Classification: Anti-Unit / Anti-King Noble Phantasm
Maximum number of Targets: 1
Brutus’ Dagger.
Brutus famous dagger that he used to kill Caesar.
In normal situation, in which his Eternal Condemnation is still in effect, this noble phantasm is sealed, since Brutus himself mistook the weapon as a regular dagger.
Once he overcame his Eternal Condemnation, the dagger changes form, turning it into an absolute king-killing weapon. It increases in strength when Brutus is facing a king-type servant and allows him to use his second Noble Phantasm, Sic Semper Tyrannis.

Sic Semper Tyrannis
Rank: EX
Classification: Anti-Unit / Anti-King Noble Phantasm
All Tyrants Shall Fall.
A normally-sealed Noble Phantasm, requiring him to overcame his Eternal Condemnation skill to be unlocked for use. It is a noble phantasm solely used to kill those in power, or more specifically, a king or a queen, or even a royalty.
When its true name is invoked, Brutus assesses the target, and if his target is, to his knowledge, has the trait of a king, queen, or even a royalty, he moves in for the kill. Should the attack land, even if it’s just a scratch, and the check shows the fitting trait, the enemy is immediately killed, even if they are under the protection of sacred artifact or divine protection which would otherwise grant them nigh invulnerability.
“Thus always to Tyrants…”

Bond 4 "I am truly sorry for betraying you, Caesar. I was coerced into following Pompey and right now, i stand accused, no excuses or reason. What i did is highly offensive and merits a punishment, and i shall take it all if it is necessary to earn back your trust."
"Stand up Brutus and look me in the eye. I would never hurt you."
"But why, my lord? You trusted me and i stabbed you in the back..."
"I always know you would never betray me, Brutus. And isn't trust what friend does to each other?"

I remember all those words... Those kindness... That trust...

Fan Translation: Brutus was originally a governor of Cypruss, enriching himself from tax money and returned to Rome as a wealthy man, worthy to be a member of senate. However, when the civil war broke out, he decided to follow Pompey, the enemy of Caesar. Despite this, however, Caesar felt obliged to keep Brutus safe and even ordered his men not to harm Brutus should he decided to surrender.
And true enough, after Brutus’ troops was defeated and he surrendered to Caesar, Caesar welcomed him with open arms and even offered him the position of a Praetor. The two grow even closer as a result of that, with Caesar trusting Brutus for his life.

Bond 5 If there's ever one thing that i want to do if i can turn back the time is to go back to that moment when i stabbed Caesar with my dagger. I want to kill that fool who stabbed his true friend in the back not once, but twice. I deserve to be called the enemy of the state. I deserve to die. I don't deserve this status as a heroic spirit. All i deserve is to be burned within the depths of hell itself, eternally suffering. That's what i deserve.

Fan Translation: Despite their close relationship, Brutus always resented Caesar’s rule over rome, which he saw as autocratic, devoid of the old republic way. The conspirators, saw this as a chance to plot an assassination to Caesar, recruited Brutus into the plot and Brutus unwillingly accepts. The assassination was a success and Caesar is dead, but so to Brutus’ old self. He never felt the same after murdering his close friend just for the sake of Rome and even contemplated that he shouldn’t have done that.
The senate would then declared him and the other conspirators as enemy of rome. Brutus final act in life would saw him gather troops to advance on Rome, albeit his troops was defeated and he was routed to a nearby cliff, where he commited suicide. While his suicide is believed by most to be his act of avoiding capture, some saw it as an act of absolving his sin for murdering his friend in cold blood.

Extra "Let me tell you, it's kinda wasting time if you fret over killing Caesar or not. The guy had forgiven you, and i certainly don't mind having you around. Take a good look around you, you're surrounded by people who kills other people, either for living, or their passion. You need to look at the world with both eyes in front, not back, Brutus, believe that." Ritsuka Fujimaru

What an interesting master... Accepting me despite my shortcomings and my guilt. This is the second time i was summoned to serve under a master, and also the second time i was able to overcome my Eternal Condemnation. Very well then. I shall show you my true power, master.

Fan Translation: Condemnation and Guilt.
It’s the perfect words to describe Brutus as a character.
He is constantly depressed, contemplating on why he is summoned as an assassin. He would also actively avoid contact with Caesar, fearing an even bigger guilt trip. It is also advised to not mention Rome or Caesar on his presence.
It is up to you, his master, to help him overcame that condemnation and guilt, guide him into a proper heroic spirit. However, should you do this, then that Brutus will forever change. Gone was the man of pure kindness and easy to talk to, and instead, he would be a pragmatic man, cold and calculating, not even caring who he kills so long as it is for the greater good. Take care of how you want to proceed.

April Fool "Ah, old friend!" Caesar said.
"How about we head over to the cafetaria and had a drink or two while we reminisce the good old time?" He continued.
I pondered to myself, did he really forgive me that easily? Or is this just him trying to have his payback over what i did to him?
"Payback? Of course not. Whatever happens in the past is just the past! This is the present! With both of us together, we shall overcome all odds! Now let's get that drink! Apparently, this place had interesting drink called Sake, you know!" Assured Caesar.
He spoke to me as if nothing had happened in the past. As if i was not the one who drove that dagger to his chest and killed him.

"Very well... Caesar..." I said, with a melancholic tone.

Et tu Brute

I remember it vividly and clearly…
When I draw my dagger on him, he fell over, uttering those lines in disbelief.
Then, he would get up and spread his arms, told me to drive my dagger to his heart as i already had to his back , which I did.
Warm blood splatters all over me as i stabbed his heart and by the time his lifeless corpse fell, my face is red with his blood.
What have I done?

Trivia[]

  • Credits to R-Ninja for the illustration and Hotpinkscorpion [2] for CE. Again, Brutus wasn't that popular so i had to find an illustration that is close to what i have on mind.
  • Copied Hassan of Serenity stats.
  • I designed his lore with Okita's Weak Constitution in mind. When i brainstorm, i thought can i design a servant's lore with a constricting skill? Initially, i wanted him to be able to be leveled in accordance to his bond level to match the lore, but i scrapped it.
  • Designed as buster assassin who can kill enemies with crit dmg, especially king enemies, but had a lot of demerit and low attack stats to balance out his strength. Was tough designing 3* servant as they needed extra balancing in terms of stats.
  • He is using his Dagger of Brutus in combat.
  • I have a concept of Grail War on my mind designing him. He and Tutankhamun shares a role in that war. More servants i designed will also bear that lore in mind. Odysseus is next.
  • Tell me if i did something wrong in this blog post.
