There are many tasks involved in swordsmithing: mining the mountains, gathering sand, forging steel, molding the sword, mounting the scabbard, and sharpening the blade.
They're not all that hard to do alone, but you need a lot of artisans if you want to produce many swords at once. And that's why swordsmiths work in groups. Isn't that concept similar in Chaldea? It's only when everyone does a good job that they make a name for themselves. There are many different positions for a swordsmith: mine the mountain, gather sands, forge steel, watch flames, strike at iron, form the katana, allocate scabbards, then sharpen the blade. It ain't something you can't do alone, but if you want to make them in bulk, you gotta ask for a buncha' other artisans to assist. That's why swordsmiths end up in a group together. Chaldea is something similar right? When everybody does a good job, its name will remain.

My Spirit Origin uses a modern person's body as a vessel. Happened 'cause if you summoned Muramasa himself, you would've ended up with a decrepit geezer. The Heroic Spirit Muramasa simply offered his skills to the physical body. So that's why my temperament and nature don't really reflect Muramasa's. Rather, it reflects the vessel's personality were he to grow old.
But honestly, I never thought there would be someone else who would have the same principles, lived a similar life, and be as stubborn as I am... My Saint Graph's vessel is the body of a modern person. If they've summoned Muramasa as is, I would've come out as some decrepit old man. The Heroic Spirit Muramasa just gave the skills to this body, so when you're talkin about my humanity, it isn't Muramasa's; It's the personality of that modern person if he grew old. Granted, I didn't know there was a man who had the same ideals and lived a similarly life like I did, and was just as stubborn to boot.

I'll be honest, I wasn't up to the task of being Muramasa initially. I may be Muramasa, but my persona is based on the hypothetical notion of this body living Muramasa's life.
You know, it's like that book Murasaki's reading about some modern person getting reborn in the Bunki Period of Japan. And that's why I've felt like I was just in someone's dream. But now I think this Muramasa's all right, since I gained a good apprentice. And I can't go and die before they do, right? I'll be honest, at the start, I wasn't very interested in all this. I am Muramasa, but I am also a virtual personality as if this body has lived a life as Muramasa. I mean, it's just like that book Shibuku's been reading, "What If That Person Was Reborn In The Bunki Era". An' it made me feel like I was dreaming someone else's dream. So now, I don't think this Muramasa is half bad. Maybe it's 'cause I got such a good apprentice now. Can't go and die before they do now, can I?

Not the male one, but the female one. She's noisy but she was a swordswoman who had guts and bloomed like a flower. It's one of the few records Muramasa brought back to the throne with him. Gah...it's the great sword instructor of the Tokugawa. Yeah, Muramasa is anti-Tokugawa, but it's not because I got a personal grudge against them. Just somethin' that got tacked on later more or less fictionally. If Tokugawa was a fan of mine, then obviously they would've been carrying Muramasa blades when they died...
Geh, you're the sword instructor of the Tokugawa huh. It's true that Muramasa is Anti-Tokugawa, but it's not like I have a grudge with them or something. It's a property added on due to records in fiction. Well if said Tokugawa was one of my fans then surely he'd die holding a Muramasa though.

That energetic young lady...holding the...Staff of Selection, was it? Oh yeah, that's right, the girl with the staff. I'm not sure why she bows her head when she sees me, but I wonder if I know her from somewhere. And yet, when I talked to her, she said: "There you go again, Muramasa!" and starts complaining. Oh, but it's not that bad. Plus she eats my meal quite a lot.
