Likewise, your name limns your fate, Master. Take the moment to deliberate on its meaning.

She was my son Souhaku's wife, and I even gave her the name Michi when she married into the family. I hate to admit it, but I'm sure she suffered a lot because of me. But now that I've gained a lord worthy of serving, I believe I have regained my warrior spirit. If you will accept me and my life wholly, which has been full of regret, I will serve you with all my soul. I once forsook the importance of my samurai family, but not that I finally met a lord worth attending, I believe I finally reacquired my warrior feather. Furthermore, if you will favor me in spite of my life full of regrets, I will put my entire soul to your avail.
Dialogue 1	馬琴「すわ、出駕しゅつがと参るか！ 駕籠かごだ、駕籠かごを持て！」	NA TL Wha...are you going to go out!? Bring the palanquin around! Wait for a palanquin! Zowie, we egress? You're too noble to go on foot. Wait for a litter.
Dialogue 2	馬琴「殿は殿らしく、凛と帯を引き締めてあらせられよ。叶わぬ時は、見て見ぬふりも、また礼儀であろうな」	NA TL A lord should simply act firm and proud as lords are expected to be. If that isn't possible...well, it's also polite to turn a blind eye. My lord must be as a proper lord and exude a tight-laced and august presence. And when that visage is impossible for you... turning a blind eye is oft an act of courtesy.
Dialogue 3	馬琴「マスター殿はこの馬琴が仕えるに相応しきお方だ、自信を持てぃ！ ……サーヴァントは主を選べぬと？ 否、わしは決してそうは思わぬぞ」	NA TL Master, you are most definitely worthy of my service! Have confidence! Hm? You're saying Servants can't choose their Master? No, I don't think that's true, actually! Master, you're deserving of Kyokutei Bakin's attendance. Be assured. You say Servants cannot choose their lords? Nay, I vehemently disagree.
Dialogue 4 Servant	馬琴「鉄蔵──葛飾北斎とは腐れ縁……いや、契り深し悪縁か。ふん！ あの男ときたら、わしが右と言えば左、虎と呼べば竜、旋風と叫べば大波だ！ このわしの身から欠けた部品を集めて捏ね上げるとあの男が出来上がる寸法だ！ 北斎とわしで一揃いの戯作、『椿説弓張月』を刊行できたのは江戸一番の奇跡と称してもよい！ それが、このカルデアでまたも軒を連ねることになろうとは……いやいや、いやはや……」	NA TL Tetsuzou... Yet, being a literary great is especially troublesome, I hear! Haha! Ah...Lord Andersen...a writer of fairy tales. Back in my day, my literary teacher, Santou Kyouden, was the same type of writer. Being young and immature, I derided their works as childish, but I now I've come to appreciate those works. Hm, let me give it a try too... Dialogue 7 Servant	馬琴「ホォ～、鬼女紅葉もみじか。こちらでは鬼女紅葉こうようと名乗っておると。わしの草双紙『傾城水滸伝』では、地周星・陳達にあたる女傑だ。これは元来、百八の豪傑たちの性別が裏返り、揃って女になっているという読み物で、中々乙な物だ。翻って何やらカルデアを眺め回せば傾城の武将や騎士に事欠かぬようだ。アッハッハ、二百年前より変わっておらぬな」	NA TL Oh-ho!? Is that Kijyo Momiji!? She's calling herself Kijyo Koyo here!? She's the heroine Chishusei, Chintatsu in my novel "Keisei Suikoden." It was an interesting novel in which one hundred and eight great men were gender flipped and all became women! And now, if you look around Chaldea, there seems to be no shortage of warriors and knights who have met the same fate as those in my story! Hahaha! Seems like nothing's changed even after two hundred years!!! Oh?! Kijou Momiji? So here she goes by the name Kijou Kouyou. In my chapbook series Keisei Suikoden, she is the hero representing Chen Da, the Complete Star. Keisei Suikoden is an adaptation of Water Margin where I gender-bent all 108 heroes into women. A piece of prose I'm fondly proud of. Conversely, as my eyes travel the rows of Chaldea, I find no shortage of charmer warriors and knights. Wahahaha, 200 springs later, nothing changed.

She supports Toto-sama and shows great filial piety. She is a far cry from someone like me, who was always corrected three or four times for my mistakes, and all I did was trace my brush as I was told. I got to be proud of my brushwork, which I learned between housework tasks, and I was elated to call myself Takizawa Kindou... Oh, how embarrassing... She's an example of filial piety in how she supports her Poppa.
