Default	インド初の統一王にして、仏法の守護者。 古代インド、マガダ国マウリヤ朝第三代王。 仏教圏にあっては転輪聖王、 すなわち理想的な名君として讃えられる王である。 即位した頃のアショカ王は暴虐の王であったとされる。 やがて運命的な出会いを経て、殺戮を捨て、仏法（ダルマ）を尊び守護する王となった彼を、人々は「ダルマ＝アショーカ（法阿育）」の尊称で呼び、讃えた。

Bond 3	『転輪仏塔』 ランク：Ｂ＋　種別：建立宝具 レンジ：―　最大捕捉：―人 アショカ・ピラー。 アショカ王は各地に仏塔や柱を建立したと伝えられる。 世界遺産として知られる「デリーの鉄柱」もまた、そのひとつと語られる。 一見すると腐食の様子がないこの鉄柱は、 実際には、アショカ王の時代の数百年後に建立された。 けれど、人々はこの柱を「アショカ王の柱（英語ではアショカ・ピラー）」と呼ぶ。 この堂々たる混同こそ、インドの仏塔であればすべてアショカ王の塔である―――という神秘と幻想、その実在の証と言えるのかもしれない。 「これは仏塔であって、決して武器ではない」 英霊アショカ王は、この巨大な鉄柱を携えて出現する。 ランサーの霊基で召喚された理由はこの鉄柱の存在こそであろうし、実際の戦闘では鉄柱を振るう姿が見られるが…… 本人は「かつての暴虐の徒としての自身の性質が英霊としての霊基に残ってしまっているのではないか」と考え、口惜しく感じているようだ。
Bond 4	『法阿育・転輪聖王』 ランク：Ａ＋　種別：対人／対国宝具 レンジ：１～６０　最大捕捉：１人／８００人 ダルマ＝アショーカ・チャクラ・ヴァルティン。 仏法の守護者としてのアショカ王の在り方が昇華された宝具。 転輪聖王現れし時、天に車輪が浮かび、世界には正しき秩序がもたらされる。 仏法守護。仏敵退散。 真名解放と共に七つの光輪が空に出現。光輪は一箇所に集まり、最終的にはひとつの巨大光輪と化す。 巨大光輪は空にぽっかりと空いた「砲門」となって、地上へ光の一撃を叩き付ける。遠方からは、巨大な光の柱が立ったように見えるだろう。 対象が個人であれば個人への集中攻撃となるが、 対象が集団や地域であれば広範な面攻撃となる。 仏敵を退散させるための聖なる一撃であり、悪属性および魔性への特攻となるが、本来は都市・国レベルの広範囲に亘る絶対安全圏を発生させるための宝具である。 「ダルマ＝アショーカ（法阿育）」とは、仏法（ダルマ）に帰依し、善王となったアショカ王に対する民からの尊称。
Bond 5	時折アショカ王が連れている少年は、宝具『法阿育・転輪聖王』における天の車輪の分身・分霊であるらしい。外観については、伝説上で「アショカ王の前世」とされる少年がモチーフにされているようだ。 この宝具（の擬人化？）少年、疑似的な人格を有しているのだが…… 人格については「アショカ王の前世」とされる少年ではなく、アショカ王が仏法に帰依するきっかけとして語られる「若い沙門」ないし「幼い沙弥」のものではないだろうか？　と某カルデア職員は語る（参考までに、魔術世界において転生の概念は否定されることが多い傾向にある）。 なお、少年が連れている獅子は宝具『転輪仏塔』の分身・分霊。 造形の基はピラーの上に乗る形で彫り込まれている獅子と思われる。

Extra	インド世界の仏教化を永久に定着させることこそ叶わなかったが、在位中、広範囲に亘って―――東は中華世界、西は地中海世界にまで―――行われた精力的な活動は、文化の混淆・発達、すなわち進歩の先駆けとなり、結果として人類文明全体の発展に寄与したとも言えるだろう。 法を説き、豊かさを分け与えた聖なる王。 故にこそ、各地の人々はアショカ王こそ伝説の「転輪聖王」その人であるとして尊び、多くの説話を作り、後世に残したとも考えられる。 現界したアショカ王は、仏法のみならず、汎人類史全体の守護者として振る舞う。 如何なる理屈を突き付けられたとしても、 英霊アショカ王は、迷わず、人理のために戦う者の側に立つだろう。
