Rather than seeing her as a version of Scáthach in whom aspects of Skadi are prominent, it may be more correct to say that she is Skadi who possesses certain of Scáthach's attributes. Or shall I kill it?". These serve to characterize her divine nature. A mere sigh can create a blizzard. Living things seldom survive. A smile can bring about eternal spring. Rather, they influence each other, and are in many senses intertwined. The fact that Lancer Scáthach has inherited Odin's Primordial Rune is likely a consequence of this mix (syncretism). According to the Heimskringla, the Old Norse kings' saga, Skadi divorced her first husband Njörðr, the sea god, and married Odin. This version of Skadi, though, is unmarried. However, she must still be similar enough to the figure of legend to draw so much attention and be remembered by future generations. Probably... The Scáthach-Skadi in the Lostbelt is much more Skadi than she is Scáthach, and that is why she embodies more of the aspects of the bride of the gods. The shadow castle that sits in the Land of Shadows, typically a land ruled by Scáthach of the Celts rather than Skadi, reveals itself. Of those in range of the Noble Phantasm's effects, any deemed worthy will be granted divine blessings and great fortune by the shadow castle's presence. Anyone beloved by the castle's queen, even the most feeble, will find themselves empowered to defeat terrible enemies. This Noble Phantasm may produce a remarkable turnaround if used in a Holy Grail War. Scáthach-Skadi does not fully understand why she uses this Noble Phantasm. The only thing she is aware of is that the blessings of the Nordic gods likely allowed her to wield the power of the Land of Shadows that originates from her other self (the Celtic Scáthach). If this Noble Phantasm is used properly in any usual Holy Grail War, there is a possibility of bringing astonishing complications. Scáthach-Skaði does not exactly know why she uses this Noble Phantasm. She simply perceives it as a form of divine protection bestowed by the Nordic gods being employed through the power of her other self. (the Celtic Scáthach).
