NA Localization:
Habetrot is a fairy from Scottish folklore, and is associated with the spinning of thread. She is said to spin thread into cloth using cotton flowers and flax fibers, and to make clothing from that cloth. She is typically depicted as a child-sized old woman with a crooked back. Her role is as a bridal fairy who aids women in preparing for marriage and tailors bridal gowns for the busy brides. Anyone would wish for the help she provides.

A spinster faerie, from Scottish legends.
With threads made from cotton flowers and flax fibers, she crafted clothes.
Typically she has the appearance of a hunched over old woman, but in this form she's much tinier, and resembles a large human child more.
While she is a faerie who helps with domestic affairs, she's also a fantastical bridal faerie who helps flustered brides before their weddings by tailoring them wondrous dresses.

救世主トネリコと共にブリテンの争いを治めた。
妖精暦400年にレイシフトしてきたマシュとの出会いによって運命が大きく変わった……否、運命を全力で乗り越えた妖精。
救世主トネリコと初代妖精騎士が表舞台から消えた後、ひとりブリテンを巡り、結婚式という文化を広め、多くの花嫁を送り出した。
暦が女王暦に変わる頃、北部のねじれ穴の中で自らを石にし、2017年の出会いの時まで眠り続け、
シェフィールドでなにくわぬ顔でマシュを助けた後、カルデアのマスターをオークニーまで案内し、自らの選択を受け入れた。
異聞帯ではトトロットという名だったが、マシュに汎人類史におけるハベトロットの伝承を教えてもらい、その在り方に憧れ、石の眠りから目覚めた後はハベトロットと名乗った。

もともとは翅の氏族の暴れん坊で、トネリコとの
一騎打ちに敗北、以後は仲間として同行した。
（本来は糸紡ぎの妖精であるはずが、異聞帯では人間の花嫁を送り出すコトが出来ないため、その“在り方の差異”に苦しみ、その行き場のない感情がトトロットを暴れん坊にしていた）
以後、救世主トネリコと共に戦った初代妖精騎士トトロットとして活躍する。
また、断章においてマシュの盾には『マシュ』とチョークで書いてあったと語ったが、あれはハベトロットの仕業である。
「見せてみて」と盾を預かった瞬間、早技で『マシュ』と書いたのだ。チョーク（寸法に使う）であったのがその証拠。

Habetrot of Faerie Britain
She makes her first appearance as the spinster faerie during a Fragment section of the story. She traveled alongside Aesc the Savior and helped to put an end to the many calamities plaguing Britain. When Mash Rayshifted to Fae Era 400 and met her, Habetrot's fate took a drastic turn...or rather, she did everything in her power to overcome her own destiny.
When Aesc and the rest of the first Tam Lin disappeared from history, Habetrot wandered across Britain alone, spreading wedding culture and attending to numerous brides. Once the Era of the High Queen began, she turned herself into stone inside the Twisted Hole in northern Britain, where she fell into a deep slumber until her fateful encounter in 2019. After casually saving Mash at Sheffield, she guided Chaldea's Master to Orkney where she finally accepted the consequences of her choices.
In the Lostbelt, this faerie's name was originally Totorot. When Mash taught her the legend of Habetrot from Proper Human History, she decided to call herself Habetrot after she awoke from her stone slumber, in respect for Habetrot's way of life.

Totorot was originally something of a hooligan of the Wing Clan, and she joined Aesc in her travels only after Aesc defeated her in a duel. (Though born as a faerie of thread-spinning, there were no human brides to tend to in the Lostbelt, forcing her to live without pursuing her purpose. This suffering twisted her into the brash hooligan she became.) After that duel, she fought alongside Aesc as one of the first Tam Lin.
Additionally, the Fragment story mentions that the name "Mash" was written on Mash's shield in chalk; this was Habetrot's doing. When Habetrot asked to look at the shield, she surreptitiously wrote Mash's name on it. The fact that chalk is commonly used to measure dimensions on cloth also shows that it was Habetrot.

The Habetrot of Faerie Britain
The spinster faerie, she first appeared during an intermission.
However, she also traveled alongside Tonelico the Savior before that to subdue Britain's conflicts.
In Faerie Year 400, she met the then-Rayshifted Mash, and her destiny took a drastic change…in a way that made her a faerie that used all her might to overcome destiny.
After leaving the center stage as one of Tonelico the Savior's original Faerie Knights, she wondered Britain alone, spreading information about wedding ceremonies, and taking care of an assortment of brides.
Once the Queen's Calendar began, she curled herself inside a hole in the North before sealing it with a stone and sleeping until she was needed in 2017. After aiding the beguiled Mash in Sheffield, she guided Chaldea's Master to Orkney, and accepted the choice she made.
While her name was indeed Totrot in the Lostbelt, once Mash told her about the legends of Habetrot in Proper Human History, she felt a belonging to the name, and used it after awakening in 2017.

Originally a hooligan from the Wing Clan, she became friends and traveled with Tonelico after being bested in a one-on-one fight against her.
(While she should've been the Spinster Faerie from the get-go, human brides couldn't appear in the Lostbelt, leaving Totrot as a troublemaker that felt like she was missing something, and had no place to belong.)
After fighting alongside Tonelico as her faerie knight, Totrot began to finally flourish.
Additionally, Mash's name being written in chalk on her shield was done by Habetrot. The very instant she asked to look at the shield, she deftly wrote it herself.
The proof? She is never without chalk for measurements.

そして、異聞帯であろうと汎人類史であろうと共通する事項として、とても情に厚い。
たいてい妖精に関わった人間はひどい目にあうものだが、ハベトロットは徹底して“花嫁を護る”妖精観をしている。
たとえその花嫁に後ろめたい過去があり、なんらかの罪があったとしても。
花嫁の幸福な未来のため、ハベトロットは身を犠牲にして、花嫁を幸福な結末に導くのである。

Personality
Introverted, yet active, she may not be very assertive, but she is proactive about pursuing what she wants and needs. She likes good people and can't stand evil people. Her neutral alignment does allow her to distinguish between good and evil, and she refrains from making judgments about which is better. In short, Habetrot doesn't hate people.
Her values are: peace is "good because it's easy," while conflict is "not good because it's tiresome." She's pretty much happy as long as she can keep on doing her needlework.
The Lostbelt Habetrot did not have the cultural familiarity with brides needed to fulfill her purpose, which caused issues with her memory capacity, but the original Habetrot is very intelligent despite her small stature. One common element between the Lostbelt and Proper Human History Habetrot is her kindheartedness. Humans tend not to fare well in interactions with faeries, but Habetrot never swerves in her protection of brides. Even if the bride is a sinner or has a questionable past, Habetrot will go so far as to sacrifice herself if she thinks it will help the bride have a happy future.

Granted, with her Neutral alignment she does recognize right and wrongs, but can't decide which take precedent.
Habetrot also can't bring herself to intrinsically detest others.

Fundamentally, she is a happy faerie who enjoys sewing and needlework.
The Lostbelt Habetrot came to exist with memory issues because the culture for sending off a bride didn't exist, but the original Habetrot is also small, just wiser. The Lostbelt Habetrot is also very, very sympathetic towards the mutual matters of both her Lostbelt and Proper Human History.
Most faeries look at humans with scorn, but Habetrot is a faerie insistent on defending brides, even if that bride is guilty about something they did in the past.
Habetrot would gladly give up her life for a bride's happiness, if it meant ensuring they would reach a happy end.

Habetrot's actual Noble Phantasm is called "Bridal Spinwheel," which is a dress that glorifies the bride, but for...reasons, it's become the gigantic cannon firing ludicrously large shells you see now. (The Habetrot summoned to Chaldea is from Proper Human History, and she has absolutely no clue why this weapon resides within the core of her soul.)
When Habetrot uses this Noble Phantasm, a flywheel serves as an alternative to a magical energy reactor core to generate magical energy, turning into a physical weapon that fires buttons like a railgun. It is not imbued with the concept of mortality.

The spinning wheel Habetrot pilots stores a broken Black Barrel inside. (Habetrot hides Black Barrel under a fluffy cloth.) However, mere possession of a cutting-edge weapon like the Black Barrel is poison to a faerie. Despite that, she kept it in her care until the very end because she instinctively knew that Mash would eventually need it. And so Habetrot continued to safeguard the Black Barrel as a gift for Mash's―her friend's― future.

Habetrot's original Noble Phantasm is "Spin Wheel that Gifts the Bride" (Bridal Spin Wheel), which makes any bride an outstanding dress, but because of various reasons, it's now "A big ol' cannon that shoots a big ol' bullet".
(As the Habetrot in Chaldea is from Proper Human History, it's unknown why this weapon is engraved in her very being.)
When used, it activates as a flying wheel that guzzles magic like a kiln, and becomes a physical weapon that fires like a rail-gun with the push of a button. Does not adhere to the notion of lifespans.

The Spinning Wheel Habetrot rides kept the Broken Black Barrel inside it. (To hide it, she covered it up with fluffy cloths.) However, just holding this type of latest, breakthrough technology was like poison to a faerie like Habetrot. She took charge in keeping it until the bitter end, under the intuition that "Mash will need this later". Habetrot continued to safeguard the Black Barrel until her final moments, giving it as a parting gift to her dear friend Mash's bright future.

Habetrot the Faerie
Whether she is the Habetrot of Proper Human History or the Lostbelt version, her essence remains the same. Whenever she sees a girl she feels is the one (someone who has the potential to become a happy bride), she focuses all her energy into helping and supporting them. Habetrot refers to these girls as her brides. Once she sends off the bride, she goes in search for another. Even should she already have a bride in her care, if she finds another girl, she will devote herself to both, which has led some to say that Habetrot is prone to falling in love. She may not say it out loud, but Habetrot is a bundle of devotion. She is a self-sacrificing faerie who puts the happiness of her brides before her own.

Habetrot values brides so highly because she can never mature. As much as she would like to be a bride herself, that wish cannot be granted. So she at least tries to protect the futures of those girls she deems beautiful enough to fall in love at first sight. Her protection of brides can be seen to some extent as living vicariously through them, or perhaps a dazzling dream...

Once she sends one off, she immediately searches for another, and even if she finds one nice bride and spots another, she devotes herself to both. This has led to saying that Habetrot has a lovey-dovey personality. Or in simpler terms, is a devoted soul.
She puts the happiness of brides over her own: a self-sacrificial faerie.

Habetrot values brides as treasures, because she herself can never become such a woman. She does want to become a bride herself, but that wish will never come true. As such, she easily falls in love at first sight with lovely girls, and goes on to protect them.
As compensation for these actions, she possesses a glittering dream, "It'd be nice if…no, I'd love to be in their shoes someday."
