However, she has no idea what the battle's outcome actually was. Since childhood, she has been possessed by an evil spirit, which appears as a black, sludge-like substance that seeps from the surface of her body. The possession gradually worsened, but she was able to adapt, eventually learning even to control it at will. She named it "Erlkönig." While she has the advantage of being super sensitive to death and can detect bloodlust, the evil spirit continuously hungers for sacrifices, and will devour Erice's body if left unfulfilled. Fan Translation: In a future timeline different from that of the one Chaldea walks, she throws herself into the Holy Grail War with the final servant summoned into the world "Voyager". However, even she has no idea what the result of this was. She prefers spicy and highly nutritious foods, but doesn't care much about flavor. She detests mages, but she considers herself to be a "magecraft user" without seeing the irony. She is quite knowledgeable of Heroic Spirits from every age and corner of the world, as she pores over reference documents and videos of Heroic Spirits at every given opportunity. And while she leverages her knowledge as she mercilessly carries out her job as a Reaper, she also greatly reveres the Servants' past lives. She holds Servants who were travelers or adventurers who discovered unexplored parts of the world in especially high regard. She may pretend to be composed, saying things like, "Whatever...that was normal in Mosaic City." But in truth, she's super excited about the everyday goings-on of Chaldea...so much so that blood rushes to her head so fast that she gets dizzy from all the excitement. Fan Translation: Being very attached to the importance of efficiency in all things, Erice prefers practical, functional, and durable items, tools, and clothing. As for food, she likes to eat things that are spicy and with high nutritional value while not being too concerned about the flavor. She has a hate for magicians, though she uses magic as well… anyway on to something else…. Erice is quite well versed in Western and Eastern Heroic Spirits of modern and ancient times due to her spending a large chunk of her free time pouring over materials relating to them. Through this she uses her vast knowledge coldy dealing with Heroic Spirits as the Grim Reaper, and at the same time holding deep respect towards the life they once led. While she may cooly say "Not really…. In Mosaic City that type of stuff was just normal everyday life…", while at Chaldea she supposedly secretly passes everyday away getting so excited that the blood rushes all the way to her head almost leading to nose bleeds.
