Beryl Gut (ベリル・ガット??) is one of the seven Crypters, Masters attempting to supplant the Greater History of Man with that of the British Lostbelt in Fate/Grand Order : Cosmos in the Lostbelt. He is the Master of Ruler Morgan. He was formerly one of forty eight Chaldea Master Candidates and a member of A-Team.
Profile
A mage who was recruited as a combatant.
He is usually talkative and sociable, but when his switch flips he turns into an underhanded and brutal killer.
At first glance he seems to be a vulgar young man, but after talking to him you will realize that he is actually sensible and gentlemanly.
He flatters himself that he has a human-loving and extremely sociable personality.
Appearance
Beryl has black hair and wears glasses. He also has very sharp features and wears a black shirt and red pants.
Abilities
Beryl was recruited to be Team A's main fighter. His job is to kill the other Crypters should the situation call for it. Due to this Beryl looks down on the other six, if it ever comes down to a fight, he thinks he'd win. Among the A-team he may be ranked fourth in terms of combat prowess, but he's more accustomed to killing than the rest. However despite this, Peperoncino outclasses him in combat power and as a killer and would win in a head to head fight, something Beryl never realized.
Magecraft
Beryl uses Witchcraft as his specialty, using a style of Witchcraft tailored towards using and manipulating "life" as its main ingredient, that is specifically tailored for assassination, torture and murder. This included hunting prey, concealment of oneself, lethal poison, malignacy of karma, amplification of pain, loan of misfortune.
His signature brand of magecraft requires him to eat all that he can of the creature he wants to become. He does it to Woodwose during the events of Avalon le Fae which allows him to shapeshift into his victim.
He taught Baobhan Sith how to use Fetch Magecraft, a spell that reflects the soul to create a projection. He claims it's too advanced for him to use himself, however in truth, it rots the user's soul.
Beryl also found a way to infect humans with the Moss curse that afflicts the fairies and to make it contagious, out of a twisted mixture of curiosity and pure sadism. However, his teammate Pepe manages to turn these things back on him by first taking the curses of all the suffering humans in Beryl's Lostbelt into himself, then using his own death to infect Beryl with them, causing him constant, agonizing pain.
Beryl possesses a Reality Marble called Bizarre Reality Marble: Red Hood (猟奇固有結界・レッドフード, Ryōki Koyū Kekkai Reddo Fūdo??). He also has a spell called Slack Snark (スラックスナーク??). Both of their capabilities are unknown. They were planned to be in his boss fight but had to be cut due to programming issues.
Development
The plan in the English Lostbelt was for Beryl to use his Command Spells on himself during the fight with his werewolf form, in order to power himself up. They had even recorded voice lines for it, but it had to be scrapped due to programming difficulties.
