But since Astolfo was considered to be one of the weakest amongst the knights, it appears there weren't many people eccentric enough to want to summon Astolfo even as a treasured Saber. Fan Translation: From being part of the "Twelve Paladins of Charlemagne", the prerequisites to be summoned as a Saber were met. However, for Astolfo, who was rumored to be among the weaker of the Paladins, to be summoned by someone deliberately as a first-class Saber is quite far-fetched.

They really wanted to say that with their head held high as a Saber. Yeah...that's pretty much their entire motivation for becoming a Saber in the first place. Astolfo, who had a wish-granting Holy Grail (Bell) forced upon them by Nightingale, unconsciously fulfilled their long-term wish of becoming a Saber.
