I'm a lot more used to seeing anime characters who're supposed to be smart wearing those.

Characters like those from Gurren Lagann wearing those sunglasses for a shounen genre kind of appeal. Secret Organization minions would wear black glasses.

Sometimes the glasses itself would be part of the story's plot, like Mystic Eyes Killer glasses or Persona 4's glasses.

Other times, the glasses are part of a character's joke. Like Shinpachi's from Gintama. (・・;)ゞ

Maybe what you're talking about's that sort of appeal you'd see in anime like Kyoukai no Kanata or that Sukimega anime from two years ago. ┐(￣～￣)┌

Also, I've heard about it, but don't really know much about that hololive thingy either...

For glasses, it's just a preference thing. I love the looks of glasses on people's face, usually. One of my favourite combination is round glasses with a straight hair cut, like what Nemo professor has. My guess is that it looks like a very prominent piece of jewelry and many people like jewelry or piercings, well my thing I like is glasses.

At any optometrist, I'd give them my frames and they'd cut my lenses to fit them. Honestly, those are pretty unexpensive compared to what they sell at my optometrist actually lmao

Trust me, I already made peace with that. From 2020—2025, I saw so many, many, many heartbreak moments. But he never stop trying. Never stop believing. Never stop dreaming.
