I recently downloaded Honkai Star Rail for PC. Figured with the "dead" month of FGO coming up, I need something to fill the void.
I know a few of us here play more than FGO as far as gacha games. So which others do you dabble in?

I think you should consider Punishing: Gray Raven, it has a very interesting story and very flashy combat, the gacha is also very generous, you can always get the rate-up character in their debut if you grind all the events and do the story (story has some extra one-time gacha currency you can earn for free). It's also very friendly when talking about equipment, you can earn tons of high-rarity memories for free simply by grinding the event stage that appears every patch, and most of the time, the characters don't need their signature weapon to perform well
Another game i recommend is Cookie Run: Kingdom, this one is in case you prefer cute and fun characters (which is one of my tastes). In this game you can build your own kingdom and collect tons of cookies to use in battle. The battle system is actually very simple, you simply have to cast the skills of 5 cookies of your lineup to deal big dmg, of course there is a lot of strategies, especially in the pvp modes, you have to know which cookie counters what cookie/comp, using the cookies you have in your hand.
Although this game is very generous with rewards, it might be stressful to keep up with the meta with every single new cookie being better than the ones in the previous update, plus the extremely frequent releases of high-rarity cookies that sometimes you won't even be able to obtain, even if you grind their event as much as possible, but despite that, it's still a very fun game that you can play if you're bored or if you really like cute and colorful designs
Mate, I have 3 accounts in FGO and I need to atleast finish all of the events, so no other gacha games played for now. That doesn't mean I didn't watch another game, but that's not gacha so I won't mention it.
Except for fgo (na and jp), I also play azur lane (tho mostly daily logins), blue archive and battle cats (been spending more time on that game recently).
Reasons:
FGO (na because I want to finish my grail goal, jp because luck is cracked and I get to experience new servants first hand)
Azur lane (i go for collection also because cute)
Blue archive (cute and funny uohhh, also mika)
Battle Cats (strategy type of game + break from all the endless grinding)
Though life is really really busy now, I don't really have much time to play games
Nikke because Drake looks like Sigurd
I play only two besides FGO:
Genshin: Love the trailers, it always sends me goosebumps, Character designs, and also because I already spent money on it LMAO
Honkai Star Rail: I'll admit I have no clue what the story is but all I know is that men there are hot.
Conclusion I pull for hot men in these games,
I've also played several others that have been mentioned a lot around (NIKKE, Arknights, Blue Archive, etc) but I quitted.
Other gacha games I play is Skullgirls because I love Valentine and yeah you don't actually need to roll gacha for high star characters, powering up low stars is easy in the game and low stars come with better battle effects than higher star ranks. The battle system is also fun. it's more than just tapping on cards and watch the screen,
Another gacha game I started to play is 7 Mortal Sins: Xtasy because I enjoyed the Sin: 7 Mortal Sins anime and the game story is concluding from where the anime story ended. On this game the gacha rate ups are insane, even beginners get strong characters easily without needing to pay for anything. The story is also getting better with story progress and every character has its own interlude-like side quests.
Since the main story in FGO is releasing slower and slower and events are easy to finish this leaves enough time for other gacha games (the frustrating and player unfriendly gacha system/rates for rate ups in FGO is also a reason why I tried out other gacha games)
Azur lane 👍
I don't know if Neko Atsume counts... ( ̄~ ̄;)ゞ
I have tried some and quickly realized that I don't have time for more than 1 gacha. Those are all very time consuming. And none could compete with FGO for that one place in the end.
I tried Granblue Fantasy. Probably the best art I've seen in such games, gameplay is.. fine, and decent waifus and husbandos in abundance. I dropped it after a month because story bored me to death. Maybe it becomes better later, but beginning is very generic and cartoony "boring infallible heroes versus evil empire" plot.
Illusion Connect was interesting but gameplay, while tactical enough to not be an autobattler(I fall asleep with those) didn't felt as controlled and impactful as turn-based FGO combat due to how fast animations had to be. And as heretical as it may sound to some people, I found gacha too generous. Managed to pull everyone I wanted AND use local pity system once on top of that! It just felt weightless and undeserved to me so.. I didn't care anymore.
Tried Valkyrie Connect when they had Hololive collaboration. Did the event to get some vtuber characters and dropped it because it turned out to be an autobattler.
Tried Girl Cafe Gun because I've heard that Kana Ueda voices one of the characters and it was fun and involved enough top down shooter and story looked somewhat promising. And then they stopped supporting the game. :c
And then there is I am Magicami DX which is probably the one I like the most besides FGO gameplay-wise. It also have turn based combat with a bit of Persona feel to it, with exploiting elemental weaknesses and focus on manipulating enemy turns. It has limited amount of characters(gacha is for costumes\variants) but a lot of interactions with the one you have. I guess I have to mention that this is an eroge.. My only complaint about it is the fact that events are basically unrelated to main story boring hentai fanfics that are just using characters from the main story in them. I'm still playing it sometimes but FGO eats most of my "gacha time".
I started with Geshin when we had so many dead weeks and didn't regret it. Since then I understand better how to build teams in fgo and always make sure that all relevant roles are distributed. I had always played very passively before and now I focus more on my main DPS. But the 50/50 system also gets on my nerves. I never win the 50/50.
What do you think?
