For farming. They have higher chance to drop certain items as well as drop EXP card.

Percentage-wise, yes, they have higher chance. But efficiency-wise, sometimes not. Most of the time you also spend more AP to get those items so it's better to farm those items at free quest. But it's back to case by case scenario, so I suggest you look into YT videos or google the exact hunting quest.

As for the time, I don't know if that will come before or after Nero Fest. I don't even know what's the next event in NA next week since we still don't have any confirmation whatsoever.

I have this feeling, they want to hype us on whatever is happening on the JP 8th anniversary stream.

Dead weeks in disguise. Most of the time they're worse or barely better than just farming the mats in their standard spot.

Actually they are the best sources to farm bond points and QP + the extra exp and extra materials.

So:

If you need to QP farm do hunting quests

If you need materials they are ok

If you need exp do hunting quests for the bonus

If you need only bond points than don't, just do it one time for the apple

Ugh, that's right, the hunting quests do drop EXP. Quite unfortunate since my inventory and second archive are bursting with EXP waiting for Nerofest's alleged EXP bonus (whenever I have to get an ember in a drop, I have to use one). I guess we'll see what happens. I hope it's Nerofest, but I'll be glad for whatever comes next.

Gamepress compares material drop rates of hunting quests (and event quests, for that matter) against free quests and tells which are most efficient. I know that website has a bad name around here, so take their data with a grain of salt, I guess. Generally, it seems the hunting quests usually (but not always) have slightly higher drop rates than free quests, but as has been mentioned, hunting quests drop more than materials. I used to do them at least once, but nowadays, I find I only do the highest tier or two.

It's basically what the lads above already said. If you only need one of the materials of the HQs, don't do them. If you need all the materials + EXP + QP, only then will the HQs be a good deal AP-wise.
