I know right at the end Douman seem like some edgelord quiet kid meme throwing tantrum around and being irrelevant and at the end he get clapped pretty easily even story wise lol

If understanding 'real' Douman myth, he's the guy who is destined to lose even when he really is capeable and one of the strongest. So it was just another twist on the OG Ashiya story, where Seimei wins once again.

I think his demise would have worked better if it was more prepared and layed out instead of narrating a few cutscenes, and be defeated in one arrow. He was introduced like two years ago, and all the hype went "poof" with how he's dealt with.

Since he was publicly humiliated in his famous battle loss...it made sense to me in a sad way to get kinda rolled, but it's also because he was prevented from becoming a beast.

On JP release I guess I was originally a little dissapointed with the final battle too until I thought about it. Same reason one person on my fl had permanently left him at level 99 lmao. Sad 😔

Abe-no-Seimei did not predict everything. He even says at the end he didn't think the human Ashiya Douman would be foolish enough to succumb to the whispers of Limbo. But what I don't understand is why did Seimei stay hidden the entire time even though he stayed there? Also we never really found out if the letter from Seimei was fake or not. We were told it was genuine, but why would Seimei try and start the imperial holy grail war?

On the topic of Limbo's defeat, I'm glad it didn't take a long time to take him out and how it was handled. He fittingly deserves the worst and most disrespectful ending, because that's the same wish he has for us and all of humanity.

If it fits his character I guess it's ok, it's just underwhelming, they made him out to be such a threat, to actually be a calculating baby that can't do jackshit :(

The wikia says Limbo falsified the letters, it defo wasn't Seimei who started it all

And I took the dialogue at the end more like a "I tested IF you'd succomb to the voices" rather than "I didn't think you'd actually do it", like he excepted it, but still gave him a chance to say no.

I see, so the letter was fake. That makes the most sense.

On the topic of Abe-no-Seimei testing Ashiya Douman, Douman specifically asked Seimei why didn't he stop him from going down this horrible path. Seimei answers that he really didn't think he would do it, so I wouldn't say he was testing him, he truly did believe Douman wouldn't have turned out this bad.
