Story spoilers, if you haven't FINISHED Heian-Kyo, stay away
Sooo...
Abe-no-Seimei (Japanese Merlin) foresaw all this and let it happen... JUST to teach a lesson to Douman? Really? REALLY?!
Ibuki casually lends her sword to Kintoki and... Just accepts to be slain an dissapear afterwards? Even tho she clearly shows she's concious and able to do shit in the Tree (which probably means she could just yeet out of it)?
Especially since human Douman (of all people) survived the culling of the Tree, but a Divine Spirit akin to god didn't? Ahem what?
And Douman... After all that foreshadowing, the schieming... What was that even lol. Biggest letdown so far, he talked a whole lot and did almost nothing.
None of his plan worked. He got defeated in ONE arrow of one chapter, and then byyyyyye
I even have to ask now that it's over: What was the point of Douman?
He served no purpose in the grand picture of things, always did his own thing solo, but for the plot, you could almost cut him and they'd be almost nothing to rework for the story to still be coherent. Or I'm forgetting things...
At this point all the bad guys start to look alike, they talk and taunt a lot, could kill us many MANY times during the story, never do, boast a lot about their plan and power, then get rekked for a stupid reason. Rinse repeat.
Other than that is was surprisingly a pretty standard Singularity, we got Kintoki the self insert protagonist for the inspirationnal speeches, who unlocks special powers during the fight with the big bad (like I said, classic protagonist), a vivid array of supporting characters... It was fine.
Shoutout to Ibaraki/Tsuna, their complicated intertwined backstory was... Unnecessarely poignant and sad, but a definite highlight.
OH AND BABBAGE WAS DUMB. SO DUMB. MADE NO SENSE. WHY ARE YOU SO DUMB?!
